New Mexico Cow elk hunts are a great way to get some free-range elk meat at an affordable price. The cow elk season in New Mexico starts in late November and runs through the end of December. All of our hunts are 100% fair chase. No high fence hunts.
Rifle hunters should be comfortable shooting 250 to 300 yards. Muzzleloader shots can be 100-200 and the archery will average 40 yards.
Elevation varies from 6,500-10,000 feet depending on where you will be hunting. Private ranch hunts will be cedar, juniper country, and public land hunts will be ponderosa pine to Aspen type country.
